Anyone who knows me will know that I am a bit of a Pinterest freak…I freakin’ love it. In my life BC (before children) I was an interior designer for a big Architectural firm and a huge part of my job was putting together design packages that appealed to clients on a visual and sensory level. I used to sit for hours in the library gathering images from various architectural magazines and scanning them in, followed by hours sat at my computer sorting through them and producing mood boards that would really illustrate where we were heading with their design. It was a long and laborious task…that’s not to say I didn’t enjoy it…boy it was far better than sat for hours drawing door jam details!! But how much easier could my job have been if Pinterest was around then….so unfair ;-( ….Anyway its here now and I for one love the vast collections of creative images that really inspire me.
So being me and never shy of a project (or 5) I decide that with a new baby on the way we need a new nursery too. I set about my research and head straight for Pinterest …I pin and re-pin, and pin a bit more until I had a fairly definitive idea about how I want it to be. When we found out that our little one was to be a girl poor Chester was promptly turfed out from his bedroom (it is the nearest to mine so kind of necessary) to bunk in with his little brother and his room was stripped of all his boyish army paraphernalia…camo nets and sand bags were banished and replaced with a cot, soft cushions and wall stickers!
We inherited the fantastic hand made bed when we moved into the house -it was nearly the deal clincher! And so I wanted to keep it in-situ especially as Chester may one day return to his room, and also we didn’t want anything too babyish so with the lovely wooden bed already there it made sense to theme the room around its woodland feel. Woodland themed it is!..and…. I do like a theme! No really!!
I am really pleased with it…I would love to know what you think!
