Stanley Brown…what a great name! It sounds like a lovely character in a Dickins novel doesn’t it. Actually it is the name of one of my newest nephews who arrived a little later than expected back in January!
He is truly delightful and one of the most laid back little babies I have been around in a long time…I’m not just saying that because I am the boasting proud Auntie..its actually true. He barely cries, he smiles constantly no matter who is cuddling him and even when he is alone in his crib he chats and coos to himself and talks to the cute little images on the fabric in his cot.
You would not believe the activity of phone calls and texts that were delivered within that 48hr period that my sister Belinda was in labour… As she is one of the younger sisters in our big family my sisters and I clucked around pacing the floors and looking at our phones for any sign of news or development…we barely slept for the 2 nights – yes 2 nights! – that she was contracting for. I could not have been more elated to know that little Stanley had arrived safe and sound and in true Collins style my sister Belinda had sailed through the birth with minimal effort all be it a bit long!! I spoke to her hours after and could tell by the tone of her voice that she was on cloud nine and nothing and no one could burst that wonderful bubble of new mummy excitement and sense of achievement. Relief all round!
I was one of the lucky ones as I live the closest so managed my first cuddle within hours of him being born. This utterly beautiful little boy.
