“However small the chance might be of striking lucky, the chance was there.”
When you have had one baby that in your eyes is complete and utter perfection and yet you want to add to your family there is always that nagging thought in the back of your head that you have no idea how you are going to be able to do ‘this’ all again. Have you just struck it lucky and now your luck is all used up on that one baby that there is no hope that a second could possibly turn out that good again? How will you love another child as much as you do this one?
Having babies can be a tricky game of chance. The rule book evaporates and your future hangs in the balance.
When and if you finally get lucky that fleeting feeling of utter euphoria is very quickly substituted by sheer panic. Nine months is a long time to ponder (read obsess) whether you are going to be enough to parent 2 children or more even. It’s so hard to comprehend what another baby will do to the dynamics of a family and i’d say totally normal to be anxious about the impending arrival/invasion.
I can with utter conviction however reassure you that when that baby finally arrives they will slot into your little family bubble like they have always been there and you in turn will shrug and think to yourself….”I don’t know what I was worried about, I have ample love for them all and now I can barely remember life before”
Belinda and Andrew struck it lucky in March when Little baby Clover made her entrance earthside, and as I knew she would slotted so wonderfully into the Brown family.
When I travelled up to visit a few weeks back I could not help but fall completely in love with this little lady much as I did her big brother.
As for her name well that’s pretty Lucky too!
