They say ‘never work with children or animals’ ….well when it comes to my children that couldn’t be more apt! They are the reason I wanted to improve my photography and ended up in business so its ironic really that they make the very worst clients ever (and I have had a few shockers!) and make me want to give up! They rarely cooperate and generally run in the opposite direction when my camera comes out. They constantly pull silly faces, refuse to sit down when instructed and fidget like they have been injected with the lethal dose of caffeine and sugar… I swear I have been so close to tears just to get that ‘one’ shot. I bribe them, I scream at them, I get cross and threaten to take away the tv…nothing works!
So when Clementine arrived naturally I wanted to take some photos of them all together, but was very dubious about how successful it would be….I set up the shoot, took a deep breath and asked gently if the children would mind having some photos done…. To my surprise they all seemed enthusiastic and argued over who was going to go first! I didn’t question them I just snapped away. Quickly!
Clementine has a mushy affect on us all, any activity that involves being with her is greeted with enthusiasm and joy. Whenever she is near the children speak softly to her and stroke her head, they smother her with love and affection. Even when they are busy doing their own things they will stop and momentarily steal a quick kiss before they continue on with what they were doing. It’s beautiful to watch, they truly love her.
Her name means ‘Merciful & Mild’ and she is.
So here is what happened when I got to take photos of all four of my beautiful children…how very blessed I am!
